Mahabubnagar, October 30 ( Kalam Power News bureau ): Political positions and power may bring recognition, but earning a permanent place in people's hearts through selfless service is the true mark of leadership. This message echoed during the 15th death anniversary of former MLA late Rajeshwar Reddy, where the public service journey of Palamuru Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Marepally Surender Reddy (MSR) came into focus.

   The commemorative programme was held at the historic Clock Tower Junction in Mahabubnagar, where senior advocate V. Manohar Reddy made noteworthy remarks about the bond between the late leader and his disciple. He observed that although Rajeshwar Reddy was no longer among them, God had given another leader in his place in the form of Marepally Surender Reddy. His remarks recalled the close association between the two and their shared commitment to public service.

Lessons from a Political Mentor

 Recalling his association with late Rajeshwar Reddy, Deputy Mayor Marepally Surender Reddy became emotional while remembering the affection, encouragement and political guidance he had received from his mentor. 

He said that discipline, maintaining close contact with people and responding to public issues were among the important values he had learnt from Rajeshwar Reddy.

Service to People Is the True Mark of Leadership

MSR's supporters stated that he gives importance to helping people in distress, extending support to affected families and remaining accessible to the public. They believe that a public representative's responsibility goes beyond holding an official position and includes standing by people during difficult times.

Continuing the Legacy

Though Rajeshwar Reddy is no longer physically present, the values and ideals associated with his public life continue to be remembered by those who knew him.
